Panaji, Jun 8 : Two special Shramik Express trains left for Odisha and Jharkhand carrying 3095 passengers on Sunday. Special Shramik Express Train No 05040 departed from Madgaon Railway Station at 1300 hrs for Balasore via Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Cuttack in Odisha carrying 1518 passengers on board, while second Special Train No.05042 Departed at 1840 hrs with 1578 passengers for Jasidih via Garwa Road, Tori, Lohardaga and Dhanbad in Jharkhand.
The passengers who boarded on both the trains were stranded in Goa due to ongoing nationwide lockdown. So far 74351 passengers have been sent back to their respective places by 53 numbers of Special Shramik Express Trains. The entire operation was monitored by District Magistrate South Goa Ajit Roy, under overall supervision of Kunal, IAS, Nodal officer for Inter State Movement Cell. (UNI)
