Navy organises blood donation camp

Panaji, May 30 : The Flag Officer Commanding, Goa Naval Area, initiated a blood donation camp at naval hospital INHS Jeevanti on May 29? 2020, as a goodwill gesture. According to a statement on Saturday, more than 80 Naval personnel donated blood during the Camp which will be utilised for treating critical patients who need whole blood, plasma and its components.

All COVID precautionary protocols and control guidelines were strictly followed during the camp. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, Goa Medical College, which has a monthly requirement of 1500-1800 units, has been facing severe shortage of blood as the number of walk-in donors to the Blood Bank has diminished.
