Congress to launch nationwide live social media campaign on May 28

Margao, May 27 : All India Congress Committee has organized a massive Nationwide Live Social Media Campaign on May 28, 2020, to voice concerns of all those who are in distress due to lock down of Covid 19 Pandemic.

All the MP's, MLA’s, GPCC members, Frontal Organizations of the Congress Party will participate in this live campaign. In a statement, Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Digambar Kamat, who participated in the live Video conference meeting with AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal alongwith GPCC president Girish Chodankar on Tuesday, said the Congress Party had demanded that the Central Government should immediately transfer Rs 10,000 in the account of every citizen who does not have taxable income.

"We have also demanded that the migrants are transported to their home states immediately and they should be employed under MGNREGA Scheme with minimum 200 days’ work. I would like to recall that our national president Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi have consistently demanded the Prime Minister to give financial aid to the people, but the BJP government has not acted on the same showing insensitivity towards the common man," he said. The live Social Media Campaign is organized as an alternative to public demonstrations which are presently banned due to the Nationwide lock down.

The Congress Party will target almost 50 Lakhs people from all across the Nation voicing their concern about the difficulties, hardships faced by needy and poor, migrants, small scale businessmen etc," he said and urged people of Goa to login on Social media platforms like Facebook, Tweeter, Instagram, Youtube etc. and voice your concern with difficulties faced by the people.
