Panaji, May 26 : Shramik Express special train departed from Karmali Railway Station to Hatia in Jharkhand on May 25, 2020, carrying 1494 passengers on board who were stranded in Goa due to ongoing Nationwide Lockdown.
Similarly Shramik Express Special train carrying 1484 passengers left Madgaon Railway Station for Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, and another train carrying 1628 passengers left for Balasore in Odisha. A proper medical screening and other formalities of the passengers were carried out before they boarded the train. A bus left from Bengaluru carrying ten passengers for Goa. The entire operation was monitored by District Magistrate South Goa, Ajit Roy, IAS, and District Magistrate North Goa, R Menaka, IAS, under the overall supervision of Kunal, IAS, Nodal Officer for Interstate Movement Cell.
