Panaji, May 8: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attended interactive session via video conferencing with the members of The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on various measures taken by Government of Goa to fight against COVID-19 on Thursday. Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, National President, ASSOCHAM, Deepak Sood, Secretary General ASSOCHAM and Mangurish Pai Raikar, Chairman, ASSOCHAM, Goa State Council, participated in the online session at Chief Ministers official residence at Althino in the city.
The Chief Minister explained the various initiatives undertaken to make Goa first COVID-19 free State in the country. He said initiatives that were taken were government appointed a high level committee under his Chairmanship, established war room, constituted monitoring team, established COVID hospitals, established patho labs separately. "Credit goes to medical team who converted this seven positive cases into negative. Patients recovered and were sent to home. Borders of the state were sealed. Till date no one is allowed to enter the state without the permission of the Collector North and South. And if someone wants to enter into the state they have to first test for the COVID-19 and then only he will allowed to enter the state if he may be a Goan also."(UNI)
