Industry stakeholders urge Goa CM to re-look at paid holiday notification

Agency News

Panaji, Mar 23: Industry leaders and business leaders in Goa on Monday called on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and urged him to take a re-look at his decision to notify the duration of the extended janata curfew as a 'paid holiday'. In a joint representation submitted to the Chief Minister, the industry stakeholders also sought more clarity in the emergency notifications issued by the Goa government in the wake of coronavirus.

"The Chief Minister has welcomed the suggestions and assured the Industry bodies that a fresh notification would be issued with suggested inputs and amendments," CII Goa Chairman Blaise Costabir said in a statement. After observing 'Janata Curfew' on March 22, 2020, the Goa Government extended the curfew to another three days till March 25, 2020. However, on Monday the state government provided some relaxation in the curfew and announced that people can buy essential commodities for a few hours in the morning. (UNI)
