Panaji, Mar 19 : Goa Airport authorities on Thursday clarified that there was no possibility of a flight-full of patients infected from coronavirus from Iran landing in the state.
In a tweet, the airport authorities said,"It has come to notice that in a news item, a claim is made of an aircraft bringing the COVID-19 infected patients from Iran to Goa. It’s categorically to inform that no such flight plan or schedule slot allocation has been approved by this office."
The clarification came in the wake of media reports that a flight outbound from Iran to Goa with COVID-19 patients onboard will land in Goa. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat appealed to people not to panic and take precautions. “The South Goa Collector has categorically stated to me that there are no plans of any such flight landing in Goa. I appeal to the residents of Vasco and surrounding areas not to panic. Let us all take precautions to stay away from #COVID-19," he said in a tweet. (UNI)
