Panaji, Feb 6: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant presented a Rs 21,056.53 crore budget in the State Assembly on Thursday. Dr Sawant, who also holds finance portfolio, said the total gross budgetary expenditure worked out to Rs 21056.35 crore as against the budgetary estimate of Rs 19,548.69 crore for the year 2019-20. Of the total estimated expenditure, Rs 14906.34 crore was towards revenue account and Rs 5069.32 crore was towards capital account. The Chief Minister said it was a surplus budget of Rs 353.61 crore.
The revenue receipts for the current fiscal year were estimated at Rs 15081.03 crore, he said. Dr Sawant announced that Chief Minister Apprentice Scheme would be launched through Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) for skilled students as well as graduates and Goa Institute of Future Transformation would be set up in line with NITI Ayog.
The Chief Minister said to ease the commutation to work place in industrial estates, it was proposed to provide shuttle service buses from distant locations. (UNI)
