Ex Goa CM demands screening Goa railways stations for Coronavirus

Panaji, Feb 3 : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA and former Chief Minister Churchill Alemao on Monday demanded that not just airports but railway stations too should be screened for Coronavirus suspects in the state.

Speaking to reporters at the assembly complex ahead of the budget session, he said ,“Coronavirus has reached Kerala, which is why it is important that not just the airport, but railway stations in Goa should also be screened for suspects.” Stating that it was a serious issue, Mr alemao said the government should do as much as possible to protect the people.

Two persons have been admitted to the isolation ward of Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital after they had developed symptoms of deadly Coronavirus. Thanks to Konkan Railway, Goa is well connected to Kerala. Two cases of Coronavirus have surfaced in Kerala after the outbreak of Wuhan city in China last month. (UNI)
