Panaji, Feb 3 : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday told the State Legislative Assembly that Dabolim Airport will continue its operations even after the commissioning of International Airport at Mopa in North Goa.
In a response to a question tabled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Francisco Silveira, the Chief Minister said,''The present proposal is that Dabolim Airport will continue its operations even after the commissioning of new International Airport at Mopa.'' ''The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India vide letter No. AV.20015/11/2008-AD dated 1st July 2010 has communicated approval for continuation of civilian operations at Dabolim Civil Aviation Enclave, even after the commissioning of the new International Airport at Mopa,'' he said.
In the last assembly session, the Chief Minister had told the House that commissioning of Mopa Airport would be possible by 2021. (UNI)
