Panaji, Sep 19 : Goa Lokayukta Justice (Retired) P K Misra on Thursday said that there were ''reasonable grounds'' to conduct a detailed investigation in the disproportionate assets case against former State Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar.
After holding a preliminary inquiry, the Lokayukta in his order has held that reasonable grounds exists for conducting a detailed investigation into the case.
The Lokayukta has directed that the Law Secretary be impleaded as a party and that a copy of the complaint filed by Advocate Aire Rodrigues be also forwarded to the Chief Minister.
On June 7 last year, Advocate Rodrigues had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta over the alleged inaction of the Anti- Corruption Branch (ACB) in probing the complaint filed by him against Pandurang Madkaikar.
The next hearing of the case has been fixed on October 17, 2019.(UNI)
