Panaji, Jul 14: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar on Sunday said that 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held this year would have a tribute to former Goa Chief Minister Late Manohar Parrikar.
Responding to a question during a press conference held in the city, Mr Javadekar said, "Definitely, this year the festival will pay tribute to fond memory of our friend Manohar Parrikar."
Parrikar was instrumental in creating some infrastructure in Goa for International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which was brought in the state in 2004.
The former Defence Minister had passed away on March 17, 2019.Mr Javadekar said government had planned to organise the festival on a grand scale. Earlier, he chaired a meeting of the steering committee of IFFI. (UNI)
