Panaji, Jun 29 : Monsoon rains continue to pound Goa on Saturday as well even as Meteorological Centre predicted that rain was most likely to occur at most places over North Goa and many places in South Goa over the next few hours.
In a statement, the Weather Office said,''Rain is most likely to affect most places over North Goa and many places over South Goa districts during the next 4 hours. A few places over North Goa and South Goa districts are very likely to receive heavy rainfall during this period.Moderate to heavy spells of rain is likely to be accompanied with winds reaching up to 20-25kts.''
Meanwhile, rainfall occurred across the state throwing normal life out of gear. According to the Meteorological Centre here, during the past 24 hours Mapusa received 110.2 mm of rainfall, Pernem 113.8 mm, Ponda 084.4 mm, Panaji 136.9 mm, Old Goa 147.8 mm, Sanquelim 100.8 mm, Valpoi 104.9 mm, Canacona 131.2 mm, Dabolim 105.0 mm, Margao 105.0, Margao 107.0 mm, Mormugao 100.4 mm, Quepem 080.4 mm and Sanguem 104.3 mm of rainfall.(UNI)
