Panaji, Mar 21: The Congress in Goa said that by saying that his priority would be to improve administration in the state State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has admitted that there was lack of administration in the state and it has been proved that what Congress has been saying for the last one year was true.
Addressing a press conference at party state headquarters in the city, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar said,''CM has accepted that administration has collapse and priority would be to improve it. By the statement our stand has been vindicated and leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) exposed.''
The Congress leader also took dig at the appointment of two Deputy Chief Ministers by Chief Minister of the State saying,''When we were demanding appointment of a full time chief minister or even a deputy chief minister, BJP did not pay heed. And now for the sake of power two deputy chief ministers have been appointed. The appointment has been done for selfish reason and it has proved that Chief Minister lacked self-confidence.''
Mr Chodankar said that the Chief Minister remove suspense over persons running administration when former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was ill and warned that he should not try to protect those who had done something wrong.
''Many decisions were taken during the last one year. They must be investigated,'' he said.
He also criticised Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sardesai for reportedly saying he would review performance of government and wonder how could Deputy Chief Minister review performance of a Chief Minister. (UNI)
