Panaji, Jan 28 : Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that the newly constructed state-of-the-art bridge across River Mandovi will add to beauty of Goa.
Speaking after inauguration of the newly-constructed country's third largest cable stay bridge, built across river Mandovi, which has been named as 'Atal Setu', named after former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, in the city on Sunday, Mr Gadkari, who was chief guest at the function, the central government had sanctioned developmental work for Goa to the tune of rupees 15,000 crore.
He appreciated Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and said Mr Parrikar had played vital role in the development of Goa.
Another work of project was in progress, he said, adding Goa had a potential in developing water transport and sky bus project for tourism.
He said for having Water Resource portfolio, he would extend all sort of cooperation for the same.
Mr Gadkari said Chief Minister was sensitive towards the development of the state and therefore he had rigorously followed up to get the project collated.
He said those development works which were assure would completed. (UNI)
