RTI activist shifted to GMC

Panaji, Nov 27: RTI activist Rajan Ghate, who was on fast-unto-death at Azad Maidan in the city for the last 11 days, was shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) on Monday evening for medical check-up.

The activist has been on the strike since November 16 demanding full time Chief Minister in the state. He had also demanded that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar distributes portfolios with him among other ministers considering his ill health.

Mr Ghate was taken to GMC as he refused to break his fast. Though he was requested by Congress and Shiv Sena leaders to break his fast.

Meanwhile, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has announced that he would sit on a day-long fast to express his solidarity with Mr Ghate. (UNI)
