Panaji, Aug 29: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, will leave for US for treatment, according to State Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant.
Speaking to reporters in the city, Dr Sawant said The Chief Minister would be flying to the US in the evening for further treatment. He was going to the US to take opinion of doctors and he is fine, Dr Sawant said.
Close aid of the Chief Minister and former Panaji MLA Siddarth Kuncaliencar told reporters that there was some indigestion problem due to which the Chief Minister was referred to the US for further check-up and he would be back soon.
The Chief Minister had returned from the US barely a week ago. The Chief Minister had come back to the state on August 22 after receiving former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's ash-filled urns which were immersed in two rivers in the state.
But again he flew to Mumbai and was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on August 23. (UNI)
