There seems to be no let up from the heat. Suddenly we are hit with an early summer that has temperatures hovering around 40 degrees Celsius. Both North and South India alike are experiencing a hot, hot summer.
Today, April 10 the 10 cities that recorded the highest temperatures according to Skymet were- Nagpur in Maharashtra with 44.1 C heads the list; Banda in Uttar Pradesh recorded 43.8 C ; Khargone in Madhya Pradesh -43.5 C; Adilabad in Telangana- 43.3 C; Wardha-43.2 C; Akola in Maharashtra- 43.1 C. Four cities recorded the same temperature of 43 deg C- Phalodi in Rajasthan, Brahmapuri in Maharashtra, Gulbarga in Karnataka and Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.
In Delhi the temperature was around 38 deg C. Thundery showers have been predicted.
Kerala and Tamil Nadu are also experiencing oppressive weather with temperatures generally 3 degrees higher than normal. Palakkad district of Kerala has recorded the maximum at 41 deg C.
With the continuing heat come water worries this summer.
