Lucknow, Apr 27: Day after Bollywood ace Singer Kanika Kapoor broke her silence on the "nCoV spread" issue and claimed that she was wrongly blamed for spreading the deadly virus, Lucknow police on Monday served her notice for recording a statement on April 30 in connection with the FIR registered against her.
The Lucknow police, today, reached the residence of Kanika here and served her a notice to appear before the police on April 30 at 1100 hrs to record her statement. On March 21, an FIR was lodged against Kanika at Sarojini Nagar police station in Lucknow under sections Sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC.
Meanwhile, the B-town singer is reported to have informed the doctors of KGMU that she is ready to give her plasma for the treatment of the critical Covid-19 patients. On March 20, Kanika was admitted to the SGPGI after she tested positive for the novel coronavirus. She was discharged from hospital on April 6 after she tested negative and was asked to go for home quarantine for another 14 days.
Now she has also completed her home quarantine. In a statement posted on her Instagram page on Sunday night, the singer said she chose to be silent as she gave time for truth to prevail and for people to reach their own realisation. (UNI)
