Malavika Mohanan stirs up a row calling ‘Master cartoon’ misogynistic

Actress Malavika Mohanan kicked up a row by calling a cartoon created by a Vijay fan on ‘Master’ as misogynistic.

On April 26 (Monday), a popular fan page of actor Vijay shared a cartoon ‘Master’. The poster showed Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Lokesh Kanagaraj and editor Gopi Prasanna having fun, while Malavika is cooking.

Malavika responded to this cartoon rather emotionally, and said: "The task of a woman even in a hypothetical “movie house” is to cook? When will the gender roles die? Sigh. (sic)."

But Malavika’s comment attracted criticism and trolls from Vijay fans. Soon, she deleted the post as her comment started attracting even abuses from some Vijay fans.

Malavika Mohanan got a dream-like debut in Tamil with Rajinikant in ‘Petta’. Her upcoming film, Master, is a different movie to her as she did a lot of parkour fight in the movie. The film has a long sequence of parkour fight between Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika. Her debut was in Malayalam film ‘Pattam Pole’ opposite Dulquer Salman.
