Rajamouli reveals reason behind casting Alia Bhatt for RRR

Agency News

Bahubali director Rajamouli revealed for the first time why he was keen to cast Alia Bhatt for his next epic RRR.

He wanted a female lead who can really stand her ground between Tarak (NTR Jr) and Charan (Ramcharan Teja). The actress should be be innocent and vulnerable at the same time. He thinks all these qualities rolled into only one actress- that is Alia Bhatt!

With a mammoth budget of Rs 400 to 450 crore, RRR is another magnum opus of Rajamouli after Baahubali. It tells a fictional story about two revolutionary freedom fighters of 1920, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British Raj and played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, respectively. It is a fictional retelling of their lives before they became public figures which are already getting the fans excited. Fans expect a breathtaking screen war between Jr NTR and Ram Charan.

Rajamouli also revealed that it is not a triangle love story so she is not cast opposite both the heroes. Alia Bhatt is yet to start working on the project.

Rajamouli reportedly said the shoot with the actress which was supposed to happen this month got cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The makers will re-work on the dates and schedules accordingly.
