Ajay Devgn’s historical film ‘Tanhaji’ is now fast moving to the 100 Crore Club with the collection in five days has already reached at Rs 90.96 crore.

‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is running well in theatres from the day one.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a period film based on the life of Tanaji Mausare, a Maratha soldier in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film opened at Rs 15.10 crore on Friday and went on to make Rs 20.57 crore and Rs 26.26 crore in the next two days. On Monday it earned Rs 13.75 crore taking the total collection to Rs 75.68 crore. On Tuesday, it earned Rs 15.28 crore taking the total collection to Rs 90.96 crore till now.

Many VIPs are showering praises to Devgn after watching the movie. Union Minister in Tweet extended a high five to Ajay Devgn: “An amazing movie highlighting the extraordinary courage of an unsung hero of India- Tanhaji Malusare. Impressive performance by the entire cast of movie but @ajaydevgnwas truly extraordinary.”

Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film sees a spectacular performance by Saif Ali Khan who plays the Mughal fort keeper Udaybhan Rathod, anti-hero in the film. In a negative role this time, Saif yet again showed his versatility. Kajol plays the role of Savitribai Malusare, wife of Tanaji. The chemistry between the husband and wife is being appreciated by the cine-goers. One of the biggest pulls of Tanhaji, apart from its content, is the fact that Ajay Devgn and Kajol are teaming up for a film after a long time. Additionally, Padukone's visit to JNU amid the student protest pushed a section of the society to boycott Chhapaak and opt for Tanhaji instead.

In case of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, it is the historical factor coupled with some never seen before visuals, courtesy high-end VFX, that should do the trick. The makers have tried to present a real-life story in a superhero film format, which is being liked by the audience.
