Kollywood to celebrate Kamal’s 60 years in cinema

As Kamal Haasan completes 60 years in cinema, the film fraternity of Tamil Nadu is all set to celebrate this rare event of the history of Tamil movie on Sunday, 17 November.

A mega show, which has been named as ‘Ungal Naan’ will be held in Chennai and fans are looking forward to this grand event on the way. Reportedly, the event will be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium and the programme will commence at 5 PM.

Informing about the show, Kamal’s production company RajKamal informed in a tweet: “The stage is getting ready for the Glorious Event #UngalNaan”

The musical tribute to Kamal Haasan will be a treat as the programme will be led by none other than Maestro Ilayaraja who had churned out many popular numbers to Ulaganaayakan in the past. A felicitation ceremony will also be held on the same day with many prominent film celebrities expected to grace the dais. Reportedly, the five-hour-long celebration includes a two-hour long musical tribute followed by a felicitation ceremony which would be a little over three hours.

Apart from Ilaiyaraja, Superstar Rajinikanth, AR Rahman, veteran film-maker Mani Ratnam, stars Ajith and Vijay are expected to be part of this rare spectacle.
