Hyderabad, Oct 18 : National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) will conduct its fourth National Film Festival on Rural Development here on November 20. NIRDPR has invited nominations for the film fest.
The key objectives of the film festival is to encourage youngsters and artists to document through films development and social issues and to appreciate the efforts of filmmakers’ contribution to the Rural Development sector which impact Rural India, the Institute said in a release here on Friday.
Nominations are invited for submission of feature films, documentaries and short films made by amateurs, professional filmmakers and documentary creators on the broad theme of Rural Development to contest and for screening during the Film festival. The last date to apply is November 5.
Highlighting the unique aspects of the Film Festival, Dr. Akanksha Shukla, Associate Professor and Head, Centre for Development Documentation and Communication, NIRDPR, said, “Each year as a part of the founders day celebration of the NIRDPR, we celebrate by holding film festival on Rural development and this year we propose an attractive amount as first prize.”
The films can be up to 45 minutes long and nominations will be accepted in the categories of Rural Development Government Schemes (Documentary) ; Films under different genres related to Rural Development and Thematic Mobile Film contest on any one topic on Cultural continuity – Rural to Urban and Diminishing divide – Rural to Urban.
The nominated films should be the original words of the filmmakers . A fellowship of Rs.50,000, Rs.25,000 and Rs.15,000 will be awarded to the first, second and third ranking prizes respectively for the Best Film under each category.
The films made in Hindi or other regional languages should have English subtitles. (UNI)
