New Delhi, Oct 9: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 51 lakh to the Bihar Chief Minister's Relief Fund, as the State is currently facing a flood-like situation.
Amitabh wrote a letter to CM Nitish Kumar, saying, "Indeed, I am deeply stricken by the natural calamity that has hit the state of Bihar. My deepest condolences and sympathies to all whose lives have been affected in the recent flood.
"Albeit in a small way, I extend my helping hand to ensure in the restoration of the human life in Bihar."
The flood situation continues to remain grim as 14 districts are facing the brunt and 73 lives have been lost so far.
More than 1.8 million people living in 1,179 villages in Patna, Bhojpur, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Nalanda, Khagaria, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Munger, Buxar, Katihar, Jehanabad and Arwal districts are hit by flood. (UNI)
