Rajinikanth’s 2.0 to woo China ; release on Sept 6 in 48,000 screens

After a riot-hit in India, superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 was dubbed in Chinese language. The distribution rights of the film bagged by HY Media, a Chinese distributor, who had distributed Akshay Kumar starrer Padman.

The film now set to hit the screens in China on September 6. To be distributed by HY Media the film will be screened in around 48,000 screens. Earlier, the film was supposed to hit the theatres in July, but the distributors had to change the release date to avoid a clash with The Lion King.

Shankar directed 2.0 marked the return of Rajinikanth as scientist Vaseegaran and Chitti robot. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who debuted in the role of an antagonist in southern cinema, was seen playing an ornithologist who uses the fifth force to wreak havoc and take revenge. 2.0 explores the harmful effects of radiation emanating from mobile phone towers and its effect on birds and animals. The pre-sales of tickets in China has started on a great note and has earned over Rs 3.41 crore in the country. The makers are confident that the film will impress the Chinese audience and will set the box office on fire.

The movie also starred Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain among others in key roles. AR Rahman did songs. The background score done by Rahman and Qutub-E-Kripa. Nirav Shah was behind camera and Anthony for editing.
