Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor's Saaho is doing extremely well at the Box Office but seems to be courting controversy all the way.
First there were accusations on the opening day itself that the movie makers had plagiarised Bengaluru artist, Shilo Shiv Suleman's artwork in a song sequence. The artist said that in the 'Baby won't you tell me' song sequence in the movie, her art work from her 2017 installations at the Burning Man Art Festival had been copied. The song shows Prabhas and Shraddha in a surreal scene surrounded with huge metallic flowers-exactly like Shilo's work. She took to Instagram to accuse the makers of plagiarism and said they had used the image without her permission. Echoing her sentiments Lisa Ray also lambasted the makers of the movie over their plagiarism.
All that was just settling down with the phenomenal success of the movie at the Box Office, when a new controversy has reared its head.
French director Jerome Salle has accused Saaho makers of copying his film Largo Winch. He sarcastically tweeted 'If you steal my work, at least do it properly.'
The response to this from Saaho makers is awaited.
