Bollywood condoles death of music composer Khayyam

New Delhi, Aug 21: Bollywood fraternity on Tuesday condoled the death of legendary music composer Khayyam.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Vishal Dadlani said, “Feels like music lost a note today. #Khayyam Saab, thank you for your music and for your kindness each time we met. Wish it could have been more often, but I'm glad I was able to thank you in person for the wonderful music you gave us. The songs from Kabhie Kabhi, Umrao Jaan and Noorie will never fade, and neither will you.” Rishi Kapoor said, “RIP. Khayyam sahab.”
Actor Zeeshan Ayyub said, “Really sad to hear about #khayyam sahab’s Demise... he was one of the greatest we have witnessed and he will be one of the greatest...I guess God wanted to hear some soulful melodies in these times...RIP

Salim Merchant said, “The Legend Khayyam saab passed away this eve at 9.28 pm. What a huge loss to the Music & Film world. I was by his side all day today with @TalatAziz2 bhai & Bina Aziz. May Allah bless his Soul.”

Khayyam died in Mumbai at the age of 92. Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi, known as ‘Khayyam’, was admitted to a Mumbai hospital, because of breathing issues and age-related illness.

‘Khayyam’ is best remembered for his compositions in films such as ‘Umrao Jaan’, ‘Aakhri Khat’, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, ‘Razia Sultan’, ‘Dil-e-Nadaan’ and ‘Dard’. UNI
