Manju Warrier, film team stranded in Himachal flood

The floods in North India has left actor Manju Warrier and a movie crew stranded at Chatra in Himachal Pradesh.

According to reports, there are 30 people in the crew. The flood is said to have left more than 200 people held up at Chatru, some 100 km from Manali.

Manju contacted her brother Madhu Warrier via satellite phone on Monday night. Communication with the team had been lost since Monday. Communication links, including internet, were damaged. Even the roads to the place were submerged.

Manju along with the team reached there three weeks ago for the shoot of a new movie by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan. According to Madhu Warrier, Manju said the team was left with food for just two days.

Union Minister of State from Kerala V Muraleedharan said officials in Himachal Pradesh had been contacted and all possible would be done to rescue them.
