Agency News

New Delhi, Jul 7 : Model and actor Vin Rana who is seen playing Kapil Mittal, an evil spirit, in Colors' supernatural thriller 'Kawach Mahashivratri' said he was apprehensive about the role since he has always said no to the negative characters.

Talking to UNI, Vin who was in Delhi recently to promote his show, said,'I was apprehensive about the role as I have always said no to the negative characters. But when they approached me for this character, I got excited, because as an actor I wanted to explore myself.'

'I was always playing a good boy, so I wanted to come out of my comfort zone. So I think the character I am doing right now, I have no regrets about it, as I am getting very good response from people,' Vin said.

If he is relatable to Kapil, Vin said, 'I am not at all relatable to Kapil, because I am a fun guy and my character is very aggressive. I do get aggressive sometimes, but not like Kapil. The only relatable thing I would say is that my character loves his family a lot and I also love my family.'

On growth of supernatural genre, the 'Kundali Bhagya' fame actor said,'Today every channel has two or three supernatural shows, and they are doing well. The new supernatural shows coming are good, and our TV content is growing.'

On his preference of traditional TV over web, Vin said, 'TV has a loyal audience, and in future it will grow only. I am waiting for the right concept on web. I want to do comic, action, lover boy-- I want to do all kinds of role. There is a lot of bold content being offered on web. I don't mind doing bold content only if it goes with the script, and unnecessarily I don't want to do it.'

Telling about his parameters of signing any show, the 'Mahabharat' fame actor said that he looks for the storyline and sees if his character is good.

'These are the two main things. I would see what is the importance of my character. I don't mind playing the second lead, but my role should be impactful,' Vin said.

On his ideal role, Vin said,'I want to play what Hrithik Roshan played in 'Dhoom 2', and Aamir Khan played in 'Dhoom 3', or like Shah Rukh played in 'Don'. I love playing such roles. I am hungry for such roles. '

Asking if he has been trying his hands in films, the actor said he has been approached by some production houses, but there is nothing in his hand right now.

'Kawach Mahashivratri' has become a household conversation in a very short span of time with the edge of the seat drama and mystery.

The show' storyline takes the viewers on a spine-chilling journey of Sandhya's (Deepika Singh) quest of unravelling a dark secret that she stumbles upon an a mystic Mahashivratri night. While she finds her soulmate in Angad (Namik Paul), she happens to come across Kapil (Vin Rana) on the same night where she was meant to meet her true love.
