Noted Bollywood actor Mahesh Anand passed away on Sunday. He was 57.
A police report said his decomposed body was found at his Andheri residence. He was best known for playing the villain in several Bollywood films in the late 1980s and 1990s.
As his wife lived in Moscow, Anand was living a lonely life in Mumbai. The decomposed body indicates the death may happen a couple of days back. His body was sent to the nearby Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem to ascertain the time and cause of death. Police also investigate a suicide angle behind the death.
Anand has appeared alongside top stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Govinda in films like Shahenshah (1988), Thanedaar (1990), Vishwatma (1992), Gumrah (1993), Khuddar (1994), Coolie No 1 (1995) and Vijeta (1996).
For the recent past, the actor was passing through major financial constraints.
