Final verdict is out and Yash, the hero of KGF, will play the lead in KGF Chapter 2, the sequel of blockbuster KGF. Yash also decided to drop the other project in hand, ‘Kirataka’, a directorial venture by Anil Kumar.

Yash was in confusion for a bit as the two projects came simultaneously- Prashanth Neel’s KGF Chapter 2, or My Name is Kirataka, directed by Anil Kumar. After considering all the factors, Yash has reportedly decided to go ahead with KGF 2 first. As the KGF Chapter 1 turning out to be a blockbuster, Yash had a sentimental closeness towards KGF team. The film changed the life of Yash all of a sudden. He turned into a billionaire with along with the success of the film and the film turned him into a national face. He ained worldwide recognition and emerged victorious as a national hero.

KGF Chapter 1 is the most successful Kannada film at the box office in recent times which collected more than Rs. 200 crore and this was the first Kannada film made with a mammoth budget. Released in five languages, including Kannada, the Yash starrer has broken quite a few box office records and found a place in Rs 100 crore club in a week.

Like KGF Chapter 1, Prashanth Neel will write story, screenplay and dialogues for KGF 2 also. KGF 2 will be at least four times bigger. The presenters of the magnus opus in Kannada and other languages want the actor to start off with the shoot for KGF 2 as earlier as possible.

Another reason to drop Kirataka was that the film demands a clean shaven look. Yash explains: “I have been sporting this bearded look for the last three-and-a-half months now, and in another two months I will be ready for the character that Prashanth requires of me in KGF 2. If I change my look now, it will delay the project”.

Vijay Kiragandur will bankroll the KGF2 under his banner Hombale Films. KGF Chapter 1 also became the first Kannada film to breach the India-Pakistan border. The film got a commercial release in Pakistan, which came as a boost along with its commercial success at the Indian box office.
