Clearly, Nayan is enjoying a golden period in Tamil cinema by creating her own niche. She not only commands a price on par with male stars but she is also getting roles written for her. It was Nayan who created a new market for heroine-centric films with films like Maya, Dora and Aramm in Tamil and it paved the path for films like Nadigar Thilagam, Mohini, Kanaa and Kaatrin Mozhi to be made and marketed by leading distribution companies last year.

She had a clutch of big budget films with big heroes waiting in line. Kolaiyuthir Kaalam and Airaa (Its teaser already clocked 2.4 million views) are heroine centric films, while her Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (Chiranjeevi's 125 film in Telugu) SK13 ( Sivakarthilkeyan film ), Love Action Drama (Malayalam film with Nivin Pauly) ,Thalapathy63 (Atlee film opposite Vijay) are with big heroes of south India and revolves around three languages- Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. With Pongal release, Viswasam, turned out to be a super hit, the year 2019 has started on great note for Nayanthara.
