Panaji, Nov 27: The tenth edition of the Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) will host Food and Music Festival 2018 on November 29 and 30 at Taleigao Community Centre near the city.
The gala evening, which takes one on a culinary journey through the past of India and Portugal, will witness a selection of traditional Portuguese, Indian and fusion cuisine crafted by a team of chefs from some of the most celebrated establishments in Goa - Fernando’s Nostalgia, Viva Panjim, O Coqueiro, Kokni Canteen, 7 Bakes de Goa, Cazulo and Madame Rosa.
The teams are set to offer the people of Goa an extraordinary culinary experience with a specially created menu designed to take guests down through memory lane to a Goa of the yesteryears. Goan delicacies like Cabidela, Sorpotel,Xacuti, Sannas, and Portuguese culinary fare including Pasteis de Bacalhau, Bacalhau com Natas, Empadinhas, Apa de Camarão nd more will be on offer.
Cazulo and Madame Rosa will create an array of unusual feni cocktails and beverages to set the mood for the evening. To set the ambience, an extraordinary line-up of musicians has been put together to offer an enjoyable musical experience. These include a group performance by Gavana, Sheldon Goes Solo, Rapsodia Boemia, Valentinos and Cascades on day one, while Zezinho and group, Trio Harmonique featuring Omar, Ester Noronha and Archies will perform on the second day.
Continuing with the celebrations, the Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) will host the Fado singing competition on December 5 at Institute Menezes Braganza hall. Simultaneously, Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) will also host a Photography Exhibition Lifestyle Portraits on Canvas at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall from December 5 to 7.
Like the earlier editions this year too will see a celebration of Indian and Portuguese culture including art, cinema, music, cuisine and more. The event is an effort to celebrate and appreciate the rich cultural flavours of the two nations. (UNI)
