Malayalam actor Lakshmi Krishnamurthy died on Saturday. She was 90. She was part of several popular as well as art movies.
Lakshmi was considered a serious actor after her performance in 'Panchagni' directed by Hariharan. Her acquaintance with writer MT Vasudevan Nair paved the way to her role in the film which catapulted her as an actor.
Her other noted movies were Shaji N Karun's ‘Piravi’, G Aravindan's ‘Vasthuhara’, Sathyan Anthikkad's ‘Thooval Kottaram’ and Kamal's ‘Ee Puzhayum Kadannu’.
Lakshmi was born at Chalappuram in Kozhikode. Her parents were Chengalathu Devaki Amma and Mullssery Govinda Menon.
