Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated movie Sarkar hit theatres across the world today.
The film opened on Diwali eve to an eager audience in Vijay's home state Tamil Nadu. Fans, general audience, movie traders, theatre and movie critics are posting their views about the movie on twitter.
The film, a political thriller, is said to have posed many disturbing questions to which answers are not easy. First reviews of the movie also indicate the film is critical of both the major political parties in Tamil Nadu -- the DMK and the AIADMK. But, after watching the movie, DMK party president MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin wished the team well.
Taking to Twitter, Vijay fans from Australia hoped that Sarkar will beat Baahubali 2’s opening day collection in Australia.
On the releasing date, Director Atlee watched the film and wished all the crew on Diwali and said he is going to direct Vijay's next. Wishes poured from all over India and abroad to Vijay conveying congratulations.
Reports say that the film was released in around 3,400 screens across the world. In addition to that, the tickets for all the shows on the first three days were already sold out, according to trade analysts.
In Kerala, Vijay fans set up the biggest cut-out of Vijay, 175 feet tall. This is considered the biggest cut-out ever set up for a star in India.
