Film director Mani Ratnam’s office has received a bomb threat call on Tuesday.
It is learnt that the caller wanted to cut some controversial dialogues from the Mani Ratnam’s recently released movie ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’. The story of the film carries a striking resemblance with a political family of Tamil Nadu as it revolves around the power-struggle within a family after the sudden demise of its patriarch. It is not known which dialogue is to be removed as per the demand of the caller.
The controversial film ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ released on September 27. The film, a gangster drama with a sprawling star cast, is running to packed theatres across Tamil Nadu. Arvind Swami, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari and Dayana Erappa are in significant roles.
It is confirmed that director Mani Ratnam has already lodged a complaint with the police about receiving a bomb threat over phone. Mani Ratnam had told the police that the threat was received at his office in Abiramapuram, Chennai. Mani Ratnam is drawing a box office success after a hiatus with ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’.
After Mani Ratnam’s complaint to the police, they has begun investigations into the matter.
