Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, after a chest infection.
The actor, who is undergoing treatment, is now recovering, say the hospital authorities. The veteran actor's friend Faisal Farooqui shared details from the actor's Twitter account: "Saab has been admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital as he was a bit uneasy due to a chest infection. He's recuperating. Requesting your duas and prayers."
Dilip Kumar known as Tragedy King was born in Peshawar. He is one of the first superstars of Indian cinema. His renowned films are Naya Daur, Mughal-E-Azam, Devdas, Andaz, Vidhaata, Shakti, and Karma.
In 2015, he was honoured with the Padma Vibushan by Indian Government at the age of 95. His last movie was Qila in 1998. Dilip Kumar, who will celebrate his 96th birthday in December this year, has had a six-decade long acting career in the Hindi film industry.
