Mani Ratnam-Simbu starrer "Chekka Chivantha Vaanam” is set for a release on September 28. The releasing date of the new movie was announced by Lyca productions on Friday evening. The shooting of the movie has been wrapped earlier in June.
Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is a survival project for both Simbu and Mani Ratnam. They both had some bad experiences in the box office for the last years. They both expect a strong comeback through “Chekka Chivantha Vanam”. Silambarasan's last movie “Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan” was a damp squib in the box office. Simbu plays one of the lead character. Popular model Dayana Erappa has reportedly been paired opposite Simbu in the multi-starrer venture.
Apart from Simbu, there is a major star line-up in the movie. Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh, Appani Sarath are some of the lead characters. The other two major roles will be done by Prakash Raj and Jayasudha. Though Mani Ratnam had mentioned earlier the name of Malayalam actor Fahad Fasil in the movie, the omission of his name from the poster came as a surprise to many.
Madras Talkies and Lyca productions joined hands in this project. As the first look poster is out and the title is fixed now the shooting is expected to begin in February itself. Once again, two stalwarts, AR Rahman on music and Santhosh Sivan on camera will be there to take the” Chekka Chivantha Vanam” to new heights. Vairamuthu pens the songs for the movie.
Originally made in Tamil, the movie will have a Telugu version also.
