Though the real reason is unknown, the recently released Prithviraj-Parvathy starrer is heavily drawing flak on social media and has resulted in the poor performance in theatres. As the trolls are massive, the movie 'My Story', which was released last Friday in theatres, fails to attract a big crowd.
The perpetrated campaign from some unknown corner is spreading the message that the film is not for the family audience. The trollers are pointing out the lip-lock scenes between Parvathy and Prithviraj as the reason for it.
Talking to media, Roshini Dinaker alleged that the trollers are trying to kill her movie which was made in good spirit.
It is said that the trollers are running heavily after both Prithviraj and Parvathy. The actors stood against AMMA in the Dileep issue and this may have provoked the trollers, say some industry experts. The stars open support towards the abducted actor is also pointed out as the reason behind the organized trolling against them.
Now the director, Roshini Dinaker, who is running from pillar to post, says, “The movie has four lip-lock scenes between Prithvi and Parvathy. Highlighting these scenes, trollers campaign that the movie is so hot for a family audience. Such attacks do not affect the actors but it does affect the makers”. Roshini Dinaker, who also produced the venture by investing Rs. 18-crore is quite upset over the fate of the movie in theatres.
The director also criticises Prithviraj and Parvathy for not supporting the online promotions. "The lead actors stayed away from the promotions," Roshini said.
The frustrated director also slams Women in Cinema Collective(WCC) for not supporting her in a proper way. Director said that though she approached the WCC regarding the non-cooperation from Prithviraj and Parvathy, nobody was there to support her.
It is alleged that from the beginning onwards, there was a planned move to kill this movie. Earlier, when the first song of the “My Story” was launched as a trailer, it had attracted a massive online attack.
She also alleged that there was a campaign to boycott the movie. "I got a voice message during the release of the film which urges people to boycott my film," said a troubled Roshini Dinaker.
Still, the question remains unanswered is who is behind silencing a promising film and its star couple through organized trolls?
