Rijiju corrects Priyanka Chopra, says Sikkim not troubled by insurgency

Pennews

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju sought to correct Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra, asserting that Sikkim is one of the most peaceful states in the country and is not 'troubled by insurgency', as the actor said.

'Sikkim has no insurgency, it must have been a mistake or oversight by the actor and she should have been a little careful,' Rijiju said when asked by reporters to comment on the issue on the sidelines of the National Conference on “Uniformed Women in Prison Administration”. However, Priyanka later apologised for what she said during her recent interview in the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), after being trolled and criticised on social media and other platforms by the people from Northeastern state who said they were 'deeply hurt' on this.
