Hyderabad, Nov 19: GITAM( Deemed to be University) on Tuesday announced admissions for the B.Tech, M.Tech, Pharmacy and Architecture disciplines for the academic year 2020-21.

In view of the growing demand and future opportunities, a full-fledged B-tech programmes specialization with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Thinks (IoT), VLSI Design, Medical Electronics, Robotics and Automation, Cyber Security and Data Sciences will be introduced from the next academic year, GITAM ( Hyderabad), Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof N.Siva Prasad said at a press conference after releasing GAT (Gitam Admission Test) 2020 brochure here.

The computer-based online test for GAT-2020 will be conducted across 50 centres across the country for admission into Under-graduate and Post-graduate programs in Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture disciplines offered at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses he informed. The score of the candidates will be immediately announced after completing the test, he said students can write the online admission test at GITAM Hyderabad campus, Nagole, Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad and Warangal centres in Telangana.

The last date for receipt of filled-in-application is March 30 and the results will be announced on April 25, he said, adding application form can be downloaded and submitted online at

The counseling for admissions will be held in the second week of May, 2020, Prof Prasad said.

To encourage students at National level, GITAM has decided to offer merit scholarships of Rs 30 crore from next academic year, the Gitam Pro VC said the university would also offer free education to top rankers in GAT-2020 and other entrance tests such as JEE main exam, AP-EAMCET and Telangana EAMCET.

The Varsity would provide 100 per cent fee concession up to 50 rankers in GAT-2020 besides merit scholarships in the form of fee concession to top 51 to 3000 rankers. The cent per cent fee concession also be proved to JEE Main top rankers from 1 to 500 and AP and Telangana EAMCET top rankers from 1 to 250 rankers, he said. It is a 2-hours test and the students can attempt 100 objectives ( Mathematics/biology , Physicas and Chemistry) and there is no negative marks this time, he added.
