Pune, Sep 17 : Sinhgad Academy Of Engineering(SAE) of Kondhwa here on Tuesday officially declared that the institution has won the QUAD TORC 2019 National Championship.
QUAD TORC-an off-road design challenge for engineering and Diploma undertaking students-was held this year at the Garage 1 Race Track in Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. Organized by the Indian Society of New Era Engineers,the contest challenges students to design a Quad bike following some quoted rules and regulations without taking professional help.
Spanning from September 6-10,this year's contest was participated by teams from 49 engineering colleges pan-India. From the SAE,16-member-team,namely,Arihant headed by pupil Mohit Kamble became Overall Champions in the competition,and won a total of Rs 1,85,000 cash prizes besides several trophies,a release said.
Team Arihant was able to achieve the feat as the vehicle designed by them was light in weight and good in dynamic performance,mentioned release. Describing the distinctiveness of this year competition's, SAE told that the most gruelling was the final endurance test,which lasted for over 4 hours, and examined the driving abilities as well as engineering skills.
