New Delhi, Apr 5 : Around 31 lakh students have registered for admission test for Navodaya Vidyalaya admission in class VI, to be held on April 6.
"The complete online exam will be from 1130 hrs to 1330 hrs in 8513 centers located in all districts of the country," stated Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in its statement.
NVs schools provide free modern quality education in co-educational residential set-up to more than 2.70 lakh students including more than 1.25 lakh girl students.
In general admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is done at three levels namely Class VI, Class IX and class XI.
In class IX and XI against the vacant seats in JNV, if any.
Result of Board examination in JNVs is the best compared with results of other organisations affiliated to CBSE.
In 2018 the pass percentage of classes X & XII of NVS in CBSE board examinations are 97.15 and 97.08 with school average of 75.12 and 74.20 respectively.
In competitive examinations, during 2017-18,in NEET, 8407 students qualified out of 9942 and in JEE(Main) 4360 students qualified out of 11656.
In JEE(Advanced) 872 students qualified.
On November 2 ,2018, class IX Lateral entry Test was conducted for admission during 2019-20 and the provision for selected students is already released and admission process has also started in different Navodaya Vidyalayas.
Class XI lateral entry admission against vacant seats in JNVs, if any, will be done on the basis of board examination marks. (UNI)
