Panaji, Apr 4: The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR; erstwhile NCAOR) will be celebrating its foundation on April 5, 2019.
According to a statement here, on the occasion, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma AC (Retd), ‘The First Indian to go to Space’, will be delivering the Foundation Day Lecture on the topic “Future of Space Exploration” followed by an Interactive session for the members of the Public on who have already registered on the webpage, which is to be held at the NCPOR auditorium.
NCPOR is a premier Research and Development institution solely responsible for the country’s research activities in the Polar, Southern Ocean, Himalayas as also geoscientific studies. Dedicated to the nation on April 5, 2000, as an autonomous institution under the purview of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, NCPOR has enabled leading interdisciplinary research that has changed our understanding of Earth.
