New Delhi, Feb 28: Union Minister of State (IC) for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik will lay the foundation stone of the Rs 300-crore National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) at Ghaziabad Friday.
The 200-bedded hospital, an extension of the existing NIUM, Bengaluru, will be developed over 10 acres. Once established, it would be one of the largest institutes of Unani medicine in Northern India.
Besides providing healthcare services, NIUM will have facilities for quality research and education at post-graduate and PhD levels. The land for the establishment of NIUM, Ghaziabad has been provided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, an official release here said.
Union Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister (IC) for AYUSH Dharam Singh Saini, and several state MLAs and AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha will be present on the occasion. UNI
