Panaji, Sep 30: Union Minister of State for Aayush (Independent Charge) Shripad Naik has assured that his Ministry will assist to include Forensic Odontology as a separate subject in third and fourth year as the proposal has been put forth by Indian Association of Forensic Odontology (IOFO) at Goa university.
Speaking after inaugurating 1st International and 16th National Indian Association of Forensic Odontology Conferece at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, Taliegao, near the city on Saturday, he said horizon of dentistry had widened in past three - four decades.
He stated that Forensic Odontology was an evolving science and had a greater scope for development using modern technology and thus the conference was rightly themed, marching into digital era.
The conference would be platform for practising dentists and the dental students to learn new technology and that could be used in forensic dentistry.
Minister for Power and Law and Judiciary Nilesh Cabral, who was the guest of the honour for the function, said the conference would be excellent opportunity for acknowledging and understanding the work done by forensic dentist all over the world. (UNI)
