Mumbai, May 30 : Sensex soared 1751.51 points or 5.71 per cent to settle at 32,424.10 in the week under review on gradually easing lockdown restrictions by the government. The National Stock Exchange (NSE), Nifty too jumped 541.05 points or 5.99 per cent at 9,580.30.
BSE Mid-Cap advanced 573.20 or 5.09 per cent to settle at 11,843.22. BSE Small-Cap spurted 368.37 points or 3.50 per cent to settle at 10,892.60. On Monday, markets were closed on account of Ramzan or Eid-ul Fitr. On Tuesday, Sensex fell 63.29 points to settle at 30,609.30. The Nifty too fell 10.20 points to settle at 9,029,05. On Wednesday, Sensex jumped 995.92 points Stocks to settle at 31,605.22. Nifty surged 285.90 points to 9,314.95.
The market ended with robust gains on Thursday. The buying was supported by hopes of further opening up of the economy and more stimulus measures by the government. Sensex jumped 595.37 points to settle at 32,200.59. Nifty gained 175.15 points to settle at 9,490.10. On Friday, key market barometers ended with modest gains, rising for the third straight session.
