Mumbai, Apr 24: The Rupee on Friday plunged 38 paise to 76.45 against the greenback on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the forex market informed.
Advancing by 77 paise in last two sessions, the local unit opened steady at 76.07 on Friday. Till the end of the session, it tumbled down during the day and settled at 76.46, sliding 38 paise as compared to its last close. The domestic unit registered day's high and low at 76.49 and 76.04 respectively.
The Rupee plunged because of firm dollar against other world currencies amid weak equity market, the dealers added. (UNI)
