Mumbai, Apr 16: The Rupee on Thursday tumbled down further by 42 paise to close negative at 76.86 on brisk demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the forex market informed.
High oscillation was seen during the day, as the local unit slid by 26 paise to 76.70 in opening trade, till the end of the session, it lost ground by 42 paise to 76.86as compared to its last close.
The domestic unit registered days high and low at 76.90 and 76.43 respectively. The Rupee remained weak for couple of the day owing string strong dollar against other world currencies amid choppy trade in Indian equity market, dealers said. With this the Rupee had slumped 59 paise in two sessions. (UNI)
